World of Warcraft: Top 5 Updated Addons For Patch 8.0

In Articles, Reviews, RPG Games

World of Warcraft earlier today unleashed Battle for Azeroth’s pre-patch, 8.0 to the world. The patch introduces a bunch of changes and tweaks, especially for combat and class which you can read about here. For returning and current players though, the one thing that needs immediate attention are addons. Addons help improve gameplay for a lot of folks that play WoW, and not having them enabled after years of use feels odd. Luckily, some of these addon developers have been working on updates since BFA hit the PTR. Here are a few of the ones that are usable with Patch 8.0.

1. Deadly Boss Mods

Perhaps most of you will be relieved to know that DBM is updated and ready for use. Deadly Boss Mods is a universally loved addon by all WoW players who run dungeons, Mythics and raids. The addon calls out danger in addition to offering visual queues for fight mechanics. It’s a great tool for both the new player and the veteran.

2. World Quest List

With Battle for Azeroth only a month away, many players will still be questing in Argus or the Broken Isles. The 8.0 patch has made it easier now for alts to gain Order Resources and Essences for Legendaries. So it’s a no brainer that folks leveling alts would use World Quest List. This addon lists all the available WQs and Invasions on both Broken Isles and Argus. Excellent for task-doers and rep hunters.

3. GTFO

Similar to Deadly Boss Mods, GTFO is the audio queue companion to DBM’s visual ques. The addon lets you select voice alerts to warn you when you’re standing in the sh**. It’s perfectly usable in 8.0 with the addon update and most can’t play without this either.

4. WeakAuras

WeakAuras is a powerful and flexible framework that allows you to display highly customizable graphics on your screen to indicate buffs, debuffs, and a whole host of similar types of information. Players have been using this on World of Warcraft for years to customize the look and feel of the UI. It also helps you display as much information about combat situations as possible.

5. Details! (World of Warcraft Damage Meter)

Simply put, Details! is the best damage meter available for World of Warcraft. Players using this addon can see their damage, heal and other combat numbers during fights. This is especially great for min-maxers and end-game content hunters. The addon let’s you customize the look as well as show more than simple details at a flash. This includes what classes are doing the highest numbers, which spells and abilities are hitting hardest and more.
