Ashes of Creation, the highly anticipated next-gen MMORPG from Intrepid Studios had some major updates for players this past week. Creative Director Steven Sharif shared a written producer’s letter that highlighted two major updates.
The first involves the game’s testing ground – Apocalypse – the battle royale mode that was first released in late 2018. According to Intrepid, the Apocalypse will return in August 2019 for a limited time. This will still involve gameplay tests to collect feedback and data for the MMORPG’s upcoming Alpha One. Speaking of which, the MMORPG is still on track, although no date was given for when players can expect to play Ashes of Creation proper.
In addition to that, we also got more insights to one of Ashes of Creation’s major systems, the Mayoral Caravan System. The Mayoral Caravans in particular will interact with the Node System in a very integral way, allowing mayors to establish trade with nearby cities, extend relationships with other Nodes, and create the opportunity for conflict and cooperation. The full video which will be posted below shows the system in action, and it sounds interesting. The letter goes on to talk about other updates including the addition of more pets due to stretch goals and others. For all the details, check out the letter here.
