Destiny 2 Launch Dates For PC And Consoles Revealed
Destiny 2 will be arriving on consoles first, before making it’s grand debut on PCs. During the PC Gaming Convention at E3, the game’s specific release dates were revealed. PC gamers will be able to play Destiny 2 for the first time on October 24th, 2017. Console gamers will be able to get a head start on September 6th, a full 6 weeks before PC players. Both XBox One and PS4 players have the head start advantage in terms of playing first. Ultimately, it won’t matter because the game does not have cross platform support.
As for the much anticipated beta testing, beta is rumored to be happening in July for consoles and August for PC. Now that details are out of the way, let’s talk about the dates for a second. It makes sense to separate the two as much as possible, to allow consoles to make the most bang for their buck in sales.
It’s almost certain that Destiny 2 will be an immense seller on the PC for numerous factors. The first, is of course, that the game has never been on PCs and that opens up a whole new audience. The second, is that thanks to Bungie’s partnership with Blizzard Activision, publicity will have gone through the roof. It still leaves a sour taste in the mouth for PC players however. Console folks have got a lot of exclusive Destiny 2 goodies such as dungeons, armor and content. We’ll have to wait and see what are the repercussions of that. In the meantime, pray you’re in the beta!
