Funcom Planning To Partially Reset Official Servers To Fix Conan Exiles Player Cheating
Last week, Conan Exiles players reported player exploits taking place on the game’s official servers. The official servers were the prime subject, where players have been “duping” in order to hoard avatar tokens and high quality building materials in substantial amounts.
In last week’s article, we highlighted that Funcom, developers of Conan Exiles, were planning to take action. The options available to them are: to implement a roll back reset, which restarts the game in the not so distant past. The other option, is to execute a full server reset.
It is not clear that Funcom does indeed have a plan of action. In a Facebook post, the studio thanked players for their patience and constructive feedback regarding the issue. They also mentioned that later this week, they are going to partially reset the official servers. Players on those servers will keep their character levels but inventories and buildings will be wiped completely.
Let’s take a moment of silence to mourn the expertly designed bases and structures belonging to fair and honest players. As is the case with Early Access games, these things do happen. Players affected are obviously not going to be happy, but that’s why there are rules in place that discourages cheating. When rules are broken, everyone pays the consequences. So just a PSA for you cheats and potential cheaters – don’t do it.
Therefore, the partial reset will ensure that everyone starts again on an even playing field. Besides that, a new update will also re-balance feats and weapons. We don’t have an exact date on when the server reset and balance patches will be coming, so be sure to check back for more news on Conan Exiles.
