New Boss Fight Mechanics Coming To Neverwinter In New Patch

AdventureQuest 3D Releases Open Beta Trailer

Neverwinter will be introducing the Spellplague Caverns in the next patch alongside a bunch of new mechanics.

The patch will send players on their merry way into the ground. It’s anyone’s guess what they would find in the depths of the Spellplague Caverns. Only kidding, more PVE of course!

Spellplague Caverns will host a bunch of new Dungeons & Dragons monsters of the underworld. So be prepared to drag some guildies to take on the mobs and some new boss encounters too.

What the preview seems to be telling us is that these new boss encounters will be different. They will have new mechanics to deal with and that hopefully makes the fights more interesting.

For quite some time now, boss fights in Neverwinter hasn’t lived up to its potential. Compared to other MMORPGs, they felt dull and almost faceroll easy. Some of the new mechanics hinted might change all that.

One boss encounter, players will have to avoid the boss’s gaze by looking away from the source or get killed. In another, the fight could be taken to another plane or dimension. This is some really exciting stuff!

Group content in Neverwinter definitely needed a face lift and I think this is it. It’s about time that groups get content that they must progressively learn to beat.

Another thing I would love to see Neverwinter roll out is more tools for the Foundry. The Foundry is a tool kit within the game that lets players create their own quests. I’ve been having a blast immersing myself in some of these player-made quests. And having dabbled in it myself, I can totally see this expanding larger than it already is.

All in all, good times are head for Neverwinter!
