]]> Battlerite will be shutting down its game service in South Korea according to an official post found here. According to the studio, the dwindling player population and the difficulties faced with matchmaking are the reasons for the closure. The official servers will remain live until July 4th 2019, before shutting down for good.

There is a refund system going on right now to facilitate players who’ve spent money on cash store items recently to get their money back. Additionally, there are talks of Steam account transfers to the global version for those who are playing Battlerite via Steam.

If you need a refresher on what this game is, here it is. Battlerite is a TEAM ARENA BRAWLER focused on action-packed player vs player combat and tricky mind games. Win the crowd in the most authentic online arena experience of the decade. Developed by Stunlock Studios in cooperation with Coffee Stain, the studio behind the wildly successful Goat Simulator. The game entered Early Access in 2016 before finally going free to play in November 2017. While the core MOBA game was popular for some time, it was the battle royale spinoff that truly put Stunlock Studios on the map. Battlerite Royale went free to play earlier in 2019 and his the studio’s best title so far.

]]> Stunlock Studios has announced that it is adding the BATTLE PASS as part of a major update for the whole franchise together with the free-to-play launch of Battlerite Royale, scheduled for February 19th. All players will have access to the Free Battle Pass, which they will be able to upgrade to the Premium Battle Pass for more game content and other perks.

Premium Pass owners can earn Battle Stars to level up their Battle Pass, unlocking new cosmetic rewards including pets, emotes, weapons, outfits, experience boosts, avatars, sponsor-gated content and more. The Premium Pass upgrade will cost 950 in-game currency Gems / Diamonds or $9,49, if purchased through XSOLLA’s marketplace. The Free Battle Pass containing less rewards will also be available whether or not players upgrade to the Premium version and will include Season content. Connecting both games, the Battle Pass preserves progress so players can switch back and forth between the two titles. Alongside the Battle Pass comes a revamped Season system kicking off with “Battle Season 1”, which will reset seasons in Battlerite as well as leaderboards in Battlerite Royale and run for about ten weeks.

Now the only thing left for the game to do is launch on the Nintendo Switch perhaps?

]]> Stunlock Studios invites players to celebrate Battlerite’s 1-year free-to-play anniversary and join the special anniversary event in both Battlerite and Battlerite Royale.
“It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since the official Battlerite release on Steam,” said Johan Ilves, Marketing Director at Stunlock Studios. “We are so grateful to our community for all the support since day one and as a thank you, we’ve prepared gifts to all Battlerite franchise players.”

To celebrate the occasion, from November 7th to 14th Stunlock Studios is introducing Anniversary Chests across both games in the Battlerite franchise. Besides obtaining these special chests through game quests, players who login to Battlerite on November 8th will receive a free Anniversary Chest, which includes items from all previous game events: “Legends of Quna”, “Frozen Mist”, “Prehistoric Mania”, and “Curse of the Night”.

In addition, a Champion well known by the arena fans, Ezmo “The Mischievous”, is entering Battlerite Royale. An aggressive spellcaster who can move quickly utilizing teleportation, Ezmo was once imprisoned by the warlock, Aradu The Reserved, but managed to escape.

Jump into Battlerite’s arena and engage in quick and intense action through highly competitive, rip-roaring 2v2 and 3v3 battles. Control one out of 27 champions that specialize in either melee, support or ranged combat, from Bakko, the heroic brawler, Jade, the long-range gunner, to Blossom, the ultimate team support.
