What was thought to be impossible arrives: The Single Player Revolution

Something is changing on eSports world. Speed Runs are taking bigger ground and growing exponentially in the market. Community is huge and willing to fight hard to earn recognition as eSports.

Pro Iber Gaming eSports (www.proibergaming.com ) has placed the stakes by making possible the production of the first online Speed Run professional tournament adapted to an eSports format.

Prize pool is over € 5.600 to be distributed amongst Top 8, this is the highest prize up to date worldwide for an indie game.

The responsible of making this possible is James “Zamiel” Nesta, chief programmer of the Racing+ Mod for the popular game The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+. This Mod allows player to compete in a professional eSports tournament format with fair play guarantees.

By the words of Pro Iber Gaming eSports CEO: “This tourney is the biggest in history and the first professional indie Speed Run like, with the highest pool prize worldwide for this title. Feedback on this work will make us able to offer a special service for this Speed Runs category with a wide spectrum pro league, gathering all communities under our flag which is theirs.

“The Lynx Trials” are the result of months of hard work to collect data for our platform, which is still in development. The challenge is to design a viable structure to produce automatized real money paid tournaments, creating a new market without access restrictions to an online transparent and clean competition.

Tournament’s Finals will be played on the platform’s launch event (LAN) beside other surprises that will take place in Madrid”. Tournament’s Finals will be played on the platform’s launch event (LAN) beside other surprises will take place in Madrid”.

Tourney’s format is special and never seen before:

Seeded: Same map, same starters, same initial RNG

Hard

64 players

Special double elimination: Finals will be played between 3 runners in single elimination format.

For the first time in history the best indie game ever will be enjoyed in an eSports stage, settling the future of online gaming that will change everything. Emotion rips through communities and specially production team by making real something considered to be impossible by the most restricted/traditional sector of this industry.

Overwatch League Players Can Earn Up To $50,000 Per Year

If we could go back in time, no one in the early 2000s will believe that pro gaming will turn into a full time career. Look how far we’ve come, thanks to the rise of e-sports and the enourmous prize money teams and individuals take home.

The competitive scene has been dominated by team PvP games. Think Counterstrike, Starfcraft and DOTA, the frontrunners who’ve put e-sports on the map. Team shooters are making a massive comeback, with Blizzard and Overwatch leading the way. Earlier in the year, Blizzard announced its new Overwatch League. The league consists of several pro teams with around six players each, on top of a pool of free agent players. According to reports, a pro player in the Overwatch League can potentially earn up to $50,000 a year. In addition to that, there’s bonuses too such as dental and insurance. Anyone else mind blown yet?

Sure, it’s not what other players can take home from a month of playing in the DOTA Internationals competition. Heck, it’s even less than what a manager in a decent company will take home a year. But the point is, pro gaming is evolving into something of a stable career, beginning with what Blizzard’s doing with the Overwatch League.
