Killing Floor 2’s Day of the Zed Halloween Update is Playable Now

Halloween celebrations has started early with today’s launch of the Killing Floor 2: Day of the Zed Halloween update. Out now for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X, and PC via Steam or the Epic Games Store, today’s free update for the first-person shooter, co-op action title brings a cornucopia of spooky new content for players to sink their teeth into, including the new Netherhold map, weekly game modes Wild West London and Abandon All Hope, weapons, cosmetics, and the return Halloween-themed Zed variants!

To celebrate today’s Day of the Zed update, Killing Floor 2 will be on sale across all platforms in various Halloween promotions later in October. Be sure and follow Tripwire on social media for all of the latest sales information!

Killing Floor 2: Day of the Zed Update Highlights:

New Featured Community Map: Netherhold
- This dark and gloomy Killing Floor 2 custom map drips sinister atmosphere and style that’s perfect for the spooky season, while featuring many hidden areas and secret rooms. In addition, players can unlock a Unique Seasonal Reward for completing the five new Netherhold objectives.
- Supported Modes: Survival, Weekly, and Endless
New Weekly Game Modes
- Wild West London: This rootin’ tootin’ mode is for Gunslingers only with cowboy hats for EVERYONE. Weapons are limited to revolvers and lever actions and everything will look properly old-timey with a special sepia filter designed for this new mode.
- Abandon All Hope: Take on the ultimate Killing Floor 2 challenge with Maximum Difficulty Mode, which is even more difficult than “Hell on Earth.” To make things more interesting, Spawn Rate has been pushed to Max, Spawn Pools of Heavies are increased substantially, and Health and Damage output of enemies pushed beyond “Hell on Earth” levels. Players tough enough to complete Abandon All Hope will be rewarded with a special Kriss Elite Skin.

- Piranha Pistol(s) for Gunslinger / Berserker classes
- Corrupter Carbine for Field Medic / Sharpshooter classes
- HRG Disrupter for Gunslinger class
- HRG Tommy Boom for Demolitionist class

In Killing Floor 2, players descend into continental Europe where the outbreak caused by Horzine Biotech’s failed experiment has quickly spread and gained unstoppable momentum, essentially paralyzing the European Union— Just one month after the events in the original KILLING FLOOR, the specimen clones are everywhere and civilization is in disarray; communications have failed, governments have collapsed, and military forces have been systematically eradicated. The people of Europe know survival and self-preservation too well and lucky survivors have gone into hiding.

Not all have given up hope though… A group of civilians and mercenaries have banded together to combat the outbreak and established privately funded operation bases across Europe. Upon tracking specimen clone outbreaks, players will descend into zed-laden hot zones and exterminate them.

Resident Evil Re:Verse To Hold Open Beta Test Next Month

Capcom has announced PlayStation® 4, Xbox One and Steam players can participate in an open beta test for Resident Evil Re:Verse taking place April 7 at 23:00 h PDT / April 8 07:00 h BST / 08:00 h CEST, through to April 11 at 22:59 h PDT / April 12 06:59 h BST / 07:59 h CEST. Players who participated in the earlier closed beta test and still have the game installed on their hardware can play via a game update once the open beta is live. New players will be able to pre-load the open beta content starting April 5. All open beta participants will need a registered Capcom ID to play.

In Resident Evil Re:Verse you’ll play as iconic Resident Evil characters, including Chris and Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, Ada Wong, and Hunk as they clash in multiplayer battles across memorable Resident Evil locations. Take down opposing players with your chosen character’s unique weapons and skills to earn points, and string together takedowns to build up your point score – but beware that you’ll have a target on your back as a result! Being defeated in combat is not the end, however. Whenever you’re taken down, you’ll rise up again as a bioweapon with powerful new abilities. Based on how many vials of virus samples you managed to collect in human form, you’ll transform into some of the Resident Evil franchise’s most memorable enemies. Welcome other players to the family as Jack Baker, or hunt down a few S.T.A.R.S. team members as the hulking Nemesis. If you’re skilled – and lucky – enough, you can take revenge on the player who took you out!

The open beta is completely free to download and play, and a purchase of Resident Evil Village will entitle you to download Resident Evil Re:Verse once it’s available. Be sure to check out the open beta while it’s live and get in on the action!

Killing Floor 2’s Christmas Crackdown Is Back In Town

‘Tis the season to be gruesome! Developer and publisher Tripwire Interactive are spreading the holiday fear with Killing Floor 2: Christmas Crackdown. The annual holiday event that puts the slay in sleigh ride is here, bringing back themed Zeds, menus, cosmetics, and seasonal objectives, and Killing Floor 2: Christmas Crackdown is putting a cap in 2020 with content such as a new featured community map, Elysium, among more weapons and cosmetics.

Killing Floor 2: Christmas Crackdown brings community map, Elysium to the front lines of this season’s beatings. This map supports the challenging endless mode, as well as other modes like weekly and survival. Players can unwrap the new Frost Shotgun Axe (yes, a shotgun axe) and new HRG Weapon, the HRG Vampire, to light up Zeds. Killing Floor 2: Christmas Crackdown has popular cosmetic items added to the Christmas Ticket system and for sale, and more importantly, gives players a reason to equip Gary Busey’s Badass Santa.

This year, Killing Floor 2: Christmas Crackdown is available to even more players, coming after Killing Floor 2’s debut on the Epic Games Store as a free title in July along with the introduction of PC cross-play between Steam and Epic Games Store players. With over 11 million new Killing Floor 2 downloads since July, there’s never been a bigger, better or more brutal time to join the fun for 6-player co-op and 12-player VS battles!

The Killing Floor 2: Christmas Crackdown update is also part of Tripwire Interactive’s longtime commitment to release free seasonal content updates for players since the game first launched in 2016.
