Starting today, PC adventurers can log in and experience the new Epic Adventure, Scaleblight Mythal, which introduces the Scaleblight Summit region, the conclusion of Dragonbone Vale’s story, the final Heroic Encounter, “Scales to Bones,” featuring a challenging battle against an ancient Red Dragon, new rewards and more. To reclaim the Dragonbone Vale, players will need to band together with members of the Shield of the North Alliance as they must put a stop to Valindra Shadowmantle and the Cult of the Dragon from invoking Rite of the Dracolich to bring undeath to all dragons in Faerûn.

In Echoes of Prophecy, rumors of oddities in the Weave have spread from the frozen north of Icewind Dale to the sweltering southeastern Dambrath as the Cult of the Dragon has made a return to the city of Neverwinter. Alongside the legendary Sage of Shadowdale Elminster Aumar and the gathering factions forming the Shield of the North, players investigate this mysterious phenomenon and search for answers in hopes of bringing peace to Faerûn once more.

The epic campaign for Echoes of Prophecy will take place over three unique milestones. With the first milestone launching on PC and consoles on October 1, adventurers start their investigation of the Cult of the Dragon’s return and confront the cult’s powerful priests to stop their plans. The remaining milestones evolve the story of Echoes of Prophecy as players continue to uncover details behind the cult’s return and why there are strange new alterations to the Weave.

Along with new story content and challenging enemies, each milestone will bring limited-time rewards, including new mounts, cosmetic items and emotes. For every milestone, adventurers will automatically unlock free, unique rewards by logging in, playing through the campaign and completing repeatable quests. Additionally, players can purchase the premium battle pass to earn additional rewards.

According to the official blog post detailing the level squish, the changes are aimed to help new players and even existing ones get to the newer content quicker. Neverwinter players who choose the Bard class can become daring heroes who possess the ability to weave magic into their swords and use music to inspire allies, manipulate minds and even heal wounds. Bards dress to impress, carry an instrument — like a trusty lute — for performances and never leave the tavern without a rapier or cutlass at their hip. 

With the ability to be Songblades and Minstrels (the two Paragon Paths for the class) no two Bards will be exactly alike, as the class will offer one of the largest selection of spells and playstyles Neverwinter has to offer.

• Songblades: Stylish swashbucklers who are as charming as they are deadly, that can dispatch their foes in style with swordplay, magic and music. This path is for those who want to be damage dealers who are comfortable close and mid range, and who want to make use of dramatic spells and supporting songs to enhance their natural combat ability. 

• Minstrels: Master musicians who prefer to use the power of their instrument to support their allies from afar with songs of bardic inspiration. These healers can also use music to unleash psychic attack spells and illusions.

Regardless of the Paragon Path adventurers choose, every Bard has an arsenal of unique abilities that will make them a versatile and powerful party member.

Episode 2: The Soul Keeper introduces the second phase of the revamped mystical land of Sharandar and has adventurers travel to the Mended Grove to learn why the dead haunt the lands. To rid the Mended Grove of the undead, Neverwinter adventurers must band together to assist the elves of New Sharandar in defeating the soul-stealing Night Hag, Mathilda Soulstealer. The Soul Keeper introduces new content for console players, including the  Mended Grove area of the Sharandar Adventure Zone, Night Hag Lair, Soul Keeper Campaign and more. In Episode 3: The Odious Court, adventurers travel to Dark Fey Mire to investigate the fetid swamp tainted by the mysterious dark magic of Magra Curse-Eye, the deceitful Green Hag, and her sisters from the Odious Court. With frog-like humanoids called Grungs claiming the area as their own, along with aggressive Dryads who have taken refuge within, adventurers need to restore safety to the region — all the while uncovering the role of the Odious Court.
