The Winter Event, complete with snowfall and tress sporting snow-laden branches, begins today. Watch out for the new roaming Seasonal enemies and spot the Nord Rappies in their cozy little outfits! Along with the Winter Event comes a makeover! Central City will be decorated with a winter theme, and Mischief Symbols can be found all around. Players will be able to participate in the Winter Event in the Retem Region as well as the Aelio Region.

Players can also take on Daily Tasks and Weekly Tasks during the Winter Event by talking to Xiandy in Retem City. Some tasks will even reward players with special avatar items! Exchange your points for goodies at Xiandy’s Exchange Shop. Players can exchange points for the Mag Form/Winter Minimo, STP: Rappy – Snowfriends, and a Tiger Cape during the first half of the event. In the latter half of the event, which starts on January 26, Xiandy will add a Tiger Head-Mount and Rope Ribbon to her catalog! Coveted items such as Star Gems and Special Scratch Tickets will be available as well, so stock up on Seasonal Points throughout the event period!

During the Winter Event, Seasonal Enemies can be found in most Sectors within both the Aelio and Retem Regions. They’ll have seasonal symbols over their heads, making them easy to spot. The Seasonal Enemies for this event are weak to the Wind element.

Enemies and bosses with seasonal symbols will appear during the two Urgent Quests in Retem Region, Dustyl Vera Suppression Op, and Renus Vera Suppression Op. Earn Seasonal Points by defeating Seasonal Enemies and completing Limited-time tasks.

The new 5-star Weapon, Wind element Tempesta series, can be obtained with Seasonal Points. Each weapon in the Tempesta series is 5-star rarity and powerful against enemies weak to Wind. Gear up early on to make the most of its strength during the event period! Players might also find Color Variant Weapons when defeating enemies.

The long-awaited Bouncer class has finally come to Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis! Excelling at close to mid-range combat, the Bouncer is nimble and highly skilled at mid-air combat with both Photon Arts (PA) and Techniques. The chosen weapons of the Bouncer are Soaring Blades and Jet Boots. Learn how to control your new weapons by training with Deirdre in Central City. Before heading there, you should know that Jet Boots are the only weapon that can take on the element of a chosen Technique, and that Soaring Blades can produce variations of the same attacks!

Mission Pass

This is a reward system that gives players a way to earn cosmetic and beneficial items, based on completing in-game tasks. Mission Pass: NGS Season 1 begins on October 13th and runs through November 10th. Players that log in between October 13th and November 2nd will receive an N-Mission Pass Gold as a gift!

Battledia

The new quest type, Battledia, becomes available on October 13th. Collect five Battle Triggers from enemy drops and use them at a Trigger Portal to play this challenging quest. Players can receive a multitude of rewards, such as EXP and materials used for weapon and armor enhancement from Battledia: Yellow. In Battledia: Purple, face a series of Gigantix and defeat them within the time limit to claim victory, and earn higher quality rewards.

Halloween Fiesta

Celebrate Halloween in Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis from October 27th through November 24th! Central City and the open world will be transformed with spooky, festive decorations. Earn Seasonal Currency from completing limited-time tasks and defeating seasonal enemies and use it to purchase rewards like new stamps, Mag Forms, and more.

• To aid operatives in preparing to break the front line of Shiva’s defense, a VR environment, Special Breakthrough Training: Episode 6, has been created that will see participants navigating various obstacles while working in teams of 12 to take control of three areas.
• A few items have been added to the Rising Weapons Badge 5 Exchange Shop and they have Receptor Augments on them!
• A new block has been added to players’ Ships where those who specifically would like to join a party to do Quest Triggers can gather.
• A new frosty Summoner Pet, Vulcan S, has joined the Summoner Pet selection.
• Zig now has the Klauz Unit Series available for exchange. These units are extremely effective when equipped as a set, as they provide a good amount of Power, MEL Def, and additional PP.

Episode 5 brings a lot of new content and features, including the new “Hero” class, increasing the player level cap to 90, new ARKS missions and areas to explore, new enemy types, new rewards, new seasonal events, new Alliance Quarters, and more. Photon Art and Technique levels will increase, and additional Photon Art, Techniques, and Battle Arena weapons will be added. In addition, a new quest type called “Buster Quests” will be added. Buster Quests are similar to raids, but also feature base defense elements. Players will need to work together in two alternating phases to achieve victory – gathering and protecting resources in the Defense phase, and empowering siege weapons to destroy the enemy castle in the Buster phase.

Today is the last day to celebrate the new content update through the “Road to Episode 5” event in-game. Players can visit the game for login bonuses 9/16-9/29 for a chance at receiving up to 3,500,000 EXP, up to 300 SG, and an Augment Transfer Pass.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Members will receive a Lillipan Suit AND an Arkuma Suit for free as part of the Episode 5 Update Bonus.

Special items are available starting today on Xbox One in the Scratch Ticket Terminal. Players can use Arks Cash Scratch Tickets to get stylish clothing and accessories. This AC Scratch features collaboration items from Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka, as well as Kagamine Rin & Len. Represent at the main stage like never before with these unique outfits and get ready for the vocaloid performance of a lifetime!

• Every day between April 15^th-23^rd, ARKS Operatives will receive a special log-in bonus when they report for duty! The Half Scape Doll is able to sacrifice itself to revive players automatically if they become incapacitated on the battlefield – a real boost when fighting the Falspawn.
• ARKS who join an Alliance with at least four members before April 28^th will receive a SG20 Ticket (x1). And members of Alliances that have earned at least 5,000 Alliance Points before April 28^th will receive the collectable emote #269: Impromptu Tea Party!
• Two new Urgent Quests: “The Cunning Black Winged Vanguard” & “The False Champion: Luther the Fallen” begin this week.
• PSO2 Diva, Quna, returns for live concerts on Saturdays and Sundays!
• The Cherry Blossom season is coming to Phantasy Star Online 2 with a new look to the renowned Franca’s Café! Certain ARKS Ship lobbies will also change their appearances periodically.
• PSO2 is one of the first games to be included in Microsoft’s new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks program! All PSO2 players with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription will receive extra special goodies after their first log in, including an Xbox jacket and Xbox Controller accessory for their character to show off in-game. Additional Perks will be made available every month, such as bonus Half Scape Dolls and more.
• The ever-expanding catalog of outfits and accessories to collect and mix-and-match continues to grow with the introduction of the Heroic Wanderer AC Scratch Ticket.

Players can sign up for the Open Beta on the Microsoft Store. The open beta client can be downloaded in advance on Monday, March 16 at 10 AM PDT. The open beta officially launches on Tuesday, March 17 at 5 PM PDT.
