Paradox Interactive Reveals Overlord Expansion for Stellaris

Paradox Interactive this past week has revealed Overlord, an upcoming expansion for Stellaris. Overlord will grant players access to new features centered around more intricate management of their intergalactic empires, from specialized vassals to powerful new megastructures. Players can use these new features to bring order and glory to the galaxy – or bring it to its knees. Overlord will be available for Stellaris players on all PC platforms soon, and will launch alongside the free 3.4 “Cepheus” update to Stellaris with new content and adjustments for all players, as part of the continued effort by the Custodian team to provide continuous improvements to Stellaris. In Overlord, ambitious leaders will unlock a new level of empire management and realize their grand designs for the universe. Specialized vassal roles will allow players to either elevate the planets within their realms to new heights of glory, or keep them in line and under control. New enclaves will present unique opportunities and challenges, and a selection of new megastructures will offer ways to project power further and faster. Five new Origins, new music, and more will be included when Overlord launches later this year.

“The stories our players have told through the last six years of Stellaris never fail to amaze us,” said Stephen Muray, Game Director of Stellaris at Paradox Development Studio. “We’ve seen empires rise and fall, unite and destroy, and clash overtly or covertly with their galactic neighbors. Star Citizen Begins Free Fly Event Until February 25th

If you’ve been waiting to try out Star Citizen, the sci-fi sandbox space MMO from Cloud Imperium Games, you’re in luck! Following the introduction of new content, ships, and continued improvements to in-game systems with the Dec. 22, 2021 release of Star Citizen – Alpha 3.16: Return to Jumptown, developer CIG is inviting players to 2022’s first Free Fly event. Star Citizen will be free to download and play for the duration of the event, including free access to a wide array of ships, discounts for select Starter Packages, new Referral Bonuses, and more.

This Free Fly also includes the ability to take part in two exciting Dynamic Events. Jumptown 2.0 recreates the renowned fan-favorite event where players join law enforcement or criminal factions in large-scale battles over lucrative drug labs across the Stanton System. The Ninetails Lockdown event finds the criminal Ninetails gang locking down a space station under the control of Crusader Security. Players can choose to side with the Ninetails gang or ally themselves with the security forces as they battle to end or continue the lockdown.

Co-op Third Person PvE Shooter ARC Raiders Will Launch in 2022

Prepare to enlist and resist ruthless mechanized threats descending from the skies in ARC Raiders, the first official game from Embark Studios.

Unveiled today at The Game Awards, ARC Raiders is a cooperative third-person PvE shooter where players must team up to resist the onslaught of ARC, fearless enemies that drop from orbit.

ARC Raiders will be free to play and is planned for a 2022 release on the Epic Games Store, Steam, Nvidia GeForce NOW’s game streaming service, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Eager players can wishlist the game today on Epic and Steam.

“We started Embark Studios three years ago with a blank canvas and some big ideas. Today, that canvas is a lot less blank and those ideas are becoming realities,” said Patrick Söderlund, co-founder and CEO of Embark Studios. “With this reveal, we want to celebrate gameplay and give players more than a hint of how ARC Raiders looks and what it feels like to play. Ultimately for a co-op action game like ARC Raiders, that’s what matters the most. We look forward to sharing more about the game in the coming months.”

For $9.99, the Aquatics Species Pack will provide fans with a full school of new fishy cosmetics, origins, civics and cosmetics. This expansion is available to fans at a 20% discount for this week, so jump in – the water is fine!

EVE Online’s New Dawn Fourth Quadrant Has Begun

EVE Online’s fourth Quadrant of 2021 – New Dawn – has begun, introducing significant changes to mining and resources. As EVE moves toward a new age of prosperity, Capsuleers can look forward to brighter days ahead in New Eden.

The journey to strengthen the health and foundation of EVE’s ecosystem began nearly two years ago when three phases were laid out in the Ecosystem Outlook article: shortage, re-distribution, and dynamic distribution.

During this time, there have been significant updates to the distribution of resources in the universe, and equally significant changes to how ships are manufactured. Come December, New Eden will move into the next phase of this original plan, as discussed back in 2020.

New Dawn will bring increased resources throughout the universe, extensive updates to mining, a comprehensive rebalancing of EVE’s mining ships, and equally significant updates to resource compression.

Alongside these exciting changes to EVE’s economy, you’ll also be able to experience four new challenging exploration sites, all live today! These are designed to reward the boldest Capsuleers with capital and supercapital construction components.

The AEGIS Capital Ship Security Facility is scattered throughout Lowsec, and features a heavily-guarded security vault, ripe for ransacking. Covert Ops pilots will find much to plunder here.

Disrupt the Rogue Drones as they tend their nurseries in Triglavian-held space by pillaging them as part of the Overmind Nursery Groves sites, found throughout Pochven. Scan, salvage, and cloak your ships for this encounter.

In the AEGIS Secure Transfer Facility*, found in Lowsec and wormhole space, EDENCOM oversees the logistics of capital and supercapital production. Track down the transport ship ferrying VIPs in order to learn the location of the EDENCOM construction facility. Strategic cruisers fitted for scanning, combat, and hacking are recommended here.

The AEGIS Secure Capital Construction Forges* escalation site is revealed to players who complete the AEGIS Secure Transfer Facility site successfully, and it is fiercely defended. Bring significant firepower with your marauders and dreadnoughts to have any hope of looting this factory!

To help you tackle these new sites in style, there will also be a special 25% offer on select ship skins recommended for exploration sites, including skins on the popular T3 cruisers, in the New Eden Store from 9-16 November.

Sci-fi MMO Prosperous Universe Will Launch Mobile UI Companion

On November 12^th, space economy MMO Prosperous Universe (https://prosperousuniverse.com/) will officially launch its all-new Mobile UI on November 12^th, 2021. Players will now be able to use the companion version to manage their company while on the go and monitor time-sensitive transactions. The new update comes with a sleek-looking interface that stands out on all mobile devices.

Thousands of players have signed up since Prosperous Universe released its first public version in December of 2018. The game went free-to-play in 2019, staying true to its promise of avoiding microtransactions completely. Early Access began in 2021 after two years of the First Access phase; once the game fully launches, its universe will become persistent.

EVE Online Now Natively Available on Mac

CCP Games has announced that EVE Online, the hit sci-fi spaceship MMO enjoyed by more than 24 million players, is now available natively on Mac. Mac users can download the deep spacefaring MMO game for free and join a growing community of interstellar pioneers in the vast star cluster of New Eden.

EVE Online on Mac harnesses Apple’s powerful graphic processing framework, Metal, resulting in improved graphic fidelity, lower memory use, and CPU optimization for a smooth gameplay experience. Star Citizen: What To Expect In the Annual Ship Showdown and Free Game Access

Calling all pilots and players interested in Star Citizen! The Star Citizen Ship Showdown has begun! It is a month-long celebration of galactic proportions where players around the world vote for their favorite vessels and spacecraft designs in the ‘verse. Players campaign for their favorite ships with original videos, songs, miniature, photos, and more. You can find an archive of the best community creations celebrating their favorite ships, here. The second phase of the event sees 16 of the most popular ships competing in a head-to-head bracket vote.

To celebrate the conclusion of this annual celebration, developer CIG welcomes new players with free access to download and play Star Citizen along with free access to Ship Showdown’s final four ships for both new and existing pilots. EVE Online Welcomes New Generation Pilots With The Launch of Gateway: Here’s All You Need To Know!

Today, CCP Games released Gateway, the third Quadrant of 2021 for the spacefaring MMO, EVE Online. Quadrant 3: Gateway introduces the first installment of EVE Online’s revamped new player experience and skill training. CCP Games has also announced that it is launching EVE Online on the Epic Games Store on September 23, bringing its flagship game to more players.

Gateway focuses on a series of themed activities welcoming new and returning players to EVE Online. To celebrate the Quadrant’s launch, CCP has released this trailer: Gateway Trailer

EVE Online’s revamped onboarding experience is a rich, emotionally-driven narrative available for players arriving in-game for the first time. It introduces players to a fresh cast of characters that teach the essential features and controls, including how to pilot a ship, survive a firefight, make money, and more. After completing the training program, players will have a solid understanding of how to thrive amongst the stars.

“It is the best time in EVE’s 18-year history for pilots to fly into New Eden,” said Bergur Finnbogason, EVE Online’s Creative Director. “The heart of EVE Online has always been its players.

As part of the revamped skill system, Gateway also introduces customizable skill plans to EVE Online. Created with character development in mind, skill plans allow players to build, and share, a list of skills without purchasing or injecting them first.
