Gamigo group acquired the majority of Trion’s assets, including the platform, employees, and full publishing rights of the games. gamigo’s sister company, Padmapani GmbH, has acquired the IP of the Trion Worlds games, which are now made available for gamigo group, via a worldwide exclusive. The acquisition of Trion is expected to raise gamigo’s revenue by more than $18 million, following the restructuring and integration of Trion.

“The successful acquisition and subsequent integration of Trion into our portfolio substantially strengthen gamigo’s position in the European and American gaming market. On the one hand, we add similar and successful brands and games to the already broad gamigo portfolio, on the other hand, we are looking to unlock substantial synergies with the group’s existing business to further benefit from the remarkable growth potential that the gaming market offers,” said gamigo’s CEO Remco Westermann.

An undisclosed source has reported that only 25 or so employees were give the opportunity out of 200 to remain with Trion. The rest has been laid off effective immediately. Gamigo has been responsible for games like Fiesta Online, Aura Kingdom and more.

Remember the first person shooter Defiance from Trion Worlds? The one that had a parallel TV show that was supposed to affect the game? Yeah that one.

While the TV show on Syfy channel is long dead, Defiance is still going as an MMO. Furthermore, they’re making some tweaks to the game that still has a player base.

The game is introducing a new faction and currency that will make purchasing specific synergies easy. Synergies are upgrades for the player that will boost their character’s efficiency in-game. The new faction is called the Ex Inanis, and these vendors will accept the new currency for their goods.

As for the new currency, it will be the Purified Gulanite. Players will receive this for taking part in expeditions, emergencies, sieges, arkfalls and via contracts. Of course, to bypass the grind, you can buy a premium box from the cash shop.

Trion World’s first MMORPG Rift is getting some serious new content for end-game players today. The Forged In Flame Update has dropped, and the patch is now live.

Players jumping in will find a bunch of new level 70 content. The most exciting of which is a new 10-man raid, the Tantaric Depths. The new raid will offer new players at cap and veterans a serious challenge for shiny new loot. Players will venture deep into the prison created by the Alaviax to imprison the dragons of the Red Flight.

Raid groups will have to go forth to stop Queen Carli’s plan to bring forth the Apocalypse. It may sound daunting, but the raid intends to be accessible to new raiders, while maintaining relevant rewards for veterans.

The update also introduces more Eternal items. These can be obtained via a series of new level 70 quests, the new Rise of the Phoenix quest and the reworked level 70 Intrepid Gyel Fortress.

On top of the new content, new player tools are also making its way into the game. Rift now has a brand new Looking for Raid tool. According to the patch notes, the LFR tool will now make it easier to find raid groups and works just like the Looking for Group tool.

Looking for Raid(LFR): Similar to Looking for Group in dungeons, the Looking for Riad system gives players the opportunity to quickly and easily join up with others and take down epic bosses. Players are rewarded individually through the individual rewards system.

Trion Worlds has had some server problems recently for several of their games; ArcheAge and Rift suffered the most from the recent issues with unstable servers which stopped players from logging into the game and randomly kicked players.

The teams behind AcheAge and Rift have now confirmed that these issues should now be fixed for all Trion Worlds games; it looks like these two MMORPGs will be the only games to be given free loot as an apology for the servers issues.

All players who were able to log into either of the games over the past few weeks will be given the special rewards; each game is offering slightly different rewards to players who logged into the game after November 9th.

ArcheAge players are being given the permanent cosmetic pet which many players would have missed out on; the Login badge will also be handed out to players even if they didn’t log into the game each day this month. Gamers with a Patron account will be given an extra five days for their accounts to help make-up for the lost time.

Rift players will also be getting a small apology reward for the unstable servers which happened shortly after the release for the new expansion. Players with an Ascended account will be given a Bundle of Affinity if they logged into the game in between November 23rd – 30th. The bundle can be claimed from the Rift Store front page and Patron players will be given an extra five days of Patron time for their account.

The server stability issues seemed to move to European servers shortly after they were fixed for North America but Trion Worlds has confirmed now that all issues are fixed for European players also.
