Rust, one of the most successful, brutal and competitive multiplayer survival games ever created, is making its way to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Announced at Microsoft’s X019 in London, fans will get a chance to test their survival capabilities when Rust releases on console next year. When Facepunch and Double Eleven unleash servers in 2020, players looking for the ultimate competitive survival experience on console will be able to play online with up to 100 others.

Waking up on a mysterious post-apocalyptic island littered with dilapidated industrial monuments and probing scientists, it’s up to you to figure out how to keep yourself alive in a world where everything wants you dead.

In Rust, there is one goal above everything else: survive. Conquer thirst and hunger, battle the elements, create clothing and stay safe against hostile forces including other players, scientists, bears, wolves or even succumb to fire, drowning or radiation poisoning. A game without rules, Rust doesn’t tell its inhabitants what to do. Players are free to be deceptive and aggressive with intense player vs. player combat, raiding and looting, but there is potentially even more to be earned with a team of friendly players by your side. In the struggle for survival and supremacy, players can build tiny cabins in the woods to huge scrap metal fortresses in an attempt to stay safe, as well as craft a variety of weapons, bombs and traps.

Since Rust’s initial launch into Steam Early Access in 2013, almost eight million fans have populated its world and taken part in the ultimate social experiment, making it one of the most played games on Steam. The title has evolved from its earliest days as a primal-survival game to one that stands out among its competitors – featuring shockingly detailed worlds to explore and build in, filled with a variety of gameplay styles, weapons, crafts and above all else: combat.

Rust is not for the faint of heart: the game boasts a steep learning curve and a huge, killer community of players. Befriend them, kill them – the choice is yours. Players will start out alone with nothing but a rock and a torch, finding and learning blueprints to make new and higher-tier weapons, armour and defenses, building a growing arsenal to give you and your friends chances of survival. Rust will throw a barrage of challenges at you but players can fight back with craftable weapons starting with a rock in your hands, to a spear or bow, through to heavier artillery like assault rifles and rocket launchers.

For most MMORPG players, Bless has been a topic of interest over the past couple of years. Bless Online famously launched its Western version on Steam in 2018 and that was by all accounts, poorly received. Since then, the studio behind the game Neowiz has folded back into its current company in Korea, with Bandai Namco and Studio running both the publishing and development of this title. They’ve also been working on Bless Unleashed, a new MMORPG set in the Bless Universe. It’s exclusive to the Xbox One console, plus it has a big name publisher in Bandai Namco behind it. That’s the backstory, so where are we with the game? Bless Unleashed had a closed beta back in April 2019, and now the game is set to welcome its open beta to all Xbox One players.

When Does Bless Unleashed Begin Open Beta?

Starting November 7, 2019 and lasting until November 21, 2019 players can participate in the upcoming open beta exclusively on Xbox One. Intended to give an introduction to the goals of the final game, players can choose from a myriad of different classes and races as they hone their skills on their journey to save the world of Lumios from a dark and mysterious threat. Play solo or dive deep into dungeons and raids with a team of friends to take on fearsome enemies that will challenge even the mightiest of warriors. In this open beta, players can truly experience the world of Bless Unleashed as they challenge the gods, survive against all odds, and make them pray.

Wait Remind Me About What Bless Unleashed Is Again

Bless Unleashed takes place in an untamed world with a rich backstory created with hardcore MMO players in mind. With deep combo-driven mechanics, player customization, and cooperative (PvE) and competitive (PvP) multiplayer, there is an endless amount of content and gameplay possibilities to keep players engaged. Developed using Unreal Engine 4, Bless Unleashed brings unparalleled visuals to a fully realized fantasy world, offering one of the most stunning MMORPGs produced for console users. Players adventure across an open persistent world where mythical beasts roam the land and player vs. player battles can take place at any time.

Has The Game Made Improvements Since The Last Test?

For the most part, yes. According to an official post on the website, a majority of players felt that the combat in Bless Unleashed’s closed beta test was too slow and it was difficult to complete full combo chains. As a result of this, the developers have made some significant changes to combat in Bless Unleashed.

  • In-combat movement speed has been increased.

  • Evade/Dodge distance and speed have both been increased.

  • Normal NPC attacks no longer interrupt combo chains.

  • Reduced time players spend locked in attack animations.

  • The next attack in a combo chain will now be queued up when pressed and provide the player with a visual indicator that the attack has been queued up successfully.

  • Changed and improved several Blessing Skills.

  • Sprinting out of combat will no longer put the player in combat.

  • Sprint stamina cost has been reduced to allow players to sprint longer.

Microsoft To Challenge Twitch On Xbox One

After the latest Twitch announcement, Microsoft couldn’t stand still. Microsoft have announced that the new update to Xbox One will unfold the Beam Streaming app. This is a direct attempt to challenge Twitch and absorb a share of their streaming market. Microsoft are using the enormous amounts of money they are making from Windows and Office and channel them into more adventures. I believe that the new streaming app that will come with the Xbox One console will allow Microsoft to compete with Twitch.

However, Twitch is a great product and Microsoft will have to work hard in order to steal their traffic. Twitch have announced the opening of a retail store under their service. This new channel will allow game developers to push their products even further. Microsoft, with eyes glazing from this update, want to increase their sales as well. I’m not surprised about the timing. The video games streaming genre hasn’t been ruled by media giants. Now, when this channel might becomes very profitable, that is about to change.

Amazon who owns Twitch and Microsoft have enormous amounts of users, the recent announcements are an attempt to monetize their users a lot better. I don’t know how I feel about this, I think that Reddit for example is a great social place. A lot of people aren’t nice, but the content is real and people really give their share. Twitch has started like that, but like many businesses, they have to make money. As long as the streamers are making something out of it and the content that we will get is genuine I’ll be happy. However, I don’t know what is the probability that it would happen. I just hope that ads and retailers won’t destroy another social genre.

What do you think? Please share your thoughts with us
