Black Desert Online One Year Anniversary Reveals Over 3 Million Players
Black Desert Online is celebrating its one year anniversary this March. To help with celebrations, developers Kakao released an infographic with some great information.
Perhaps the most telling statistic right now is the total player population in BDO. According to the infographic, the total amount of players on both NA and EU servers sits well above 3 million players. This is a healthy amount of players for any MMORPG and it’s impressive to see BDO clock that much in.
Needless to say, I think it’s a good indicator that shows Black Desert Online has been successful. The game does a lot of things right. From its ultra realistic character creation to the beautiful world, there are many reasons why the game is good. But little did I know it had the population numbers to sit among World of Warcraft, The Elder Scrolls Online and Guild Wars 2. That makes BDO the first Asian MMORPG to enter that high-end group.
There are more cool stats in the infographic too. Another interesting one is which class is the most played. Apparently, Ninja, Sorceress and Rangers are the most popular classes in BDO. On a lighter note, Kakao acknowledges that the majority of players plays as the female gender. There’s no need to guess why – BDO is one of the sexiest MMORPGs around.
I love that they’ve tracked the rich kids too. It’s quite a surprising find that EU is the richer server compared to North America. European players have more Silvers stored and leads me to believe that they are hardcore grinders, and that’s a good thing.
