Guild Wars 2 Improves Gem Store To Offer Players Better Shopping Experience

Guild Wars 2 is working towards improving the Gem Store, the in-game shop. According to an official website post, the game aims to create a better shopping experience for players in-game. Search functionality, previewing gear and better information are all part of the updates.

First up, the Gem Store now includes a smarter categories and a sorting system. Everything is organized properly, and there’s even a new category for festival items that will be useful during events. MMORPG cash-shops today absolutely needs to be functional, and the Gem Store is heading in that direction. Search functionality is crucial for players to find the right items easily, and the new changes make it easier than before.

Another big update is to the preview system. Players hate it when they can’t see what exactly they’re buying, especially if it’s an animation, emote or gear. The new preview system ensures that players can now see their shopping list in action. All gliders, weapons, finishers and mail carriers are now previewable in the Gem Store before purchase.

GW2’s Gem Store is definitely one of the better implementations of an in-game store. However, one of the key complaints was that you can never individually examine items that come bundled in packages. That is now changing as well, and players will be able to inspect every single item in a bundle to ensure they know what they’re getting.
