Last week’s game sale charts in the UK proves promising for MMOs, with a few online titles still staying strong on the charts. Call of Duty: WWII sees a high surge up the chart from a lower position last week. With Battlefield V being announced later this week, there could be a renewed interested in war FPS again – as if that ever went away.
Elsewhere, PUBG, Destiny 2 and Star Wars Battlefront II all remain on the chart, albeit dropping positions. This is more than likely due to the amount of time passed since their respectively releases. An argument can also be made regarding fatigue, especially with PUBG. The truth is, for the Battle Royale genre, another has been overshadowing PUBG and that is Fortnite. Fortnite doesn’t make the charts because it is a free to play game, thus sales for its Battle Royale game mode do not exist.
For single player RPG games, God of War still rules at the top. It will be very likely now that the game will receive GOTY (Game of the Year), considering it’s been up there ever since the week of its release.
