Secret World Legends Is Opening Up Closed Beta To Players With Existing Accounts
A lot is happening with the The Secret World’s reboot, Secret World Legends. The troubled MMORPG will be relaunched later this month, and for now, they are giving existing players a look in.
Announced via their official Facebook page, Funcom is sending SWL beta invites to all existing players. The invitations have gone out on June 9th, and all players with an active account with good standing will be eligible.
This is a pretty good move on Funcom’s part. One of the major complains from the player base is that they never got to be a part of the decision making process. This is especially true for paying players of The Secret World.
For those jumping in now after the invites, Secret World Legends is going to look and feel pretty different. While we cannot say just how much so due to NDA, there’s a lot that’s being revealed on the Facebook page at the moment.
In short, combat is getting a major overhaul. The various different weapons from shotguns to hammers have are different, each with unique mechanics. Take Elementalism for example. There’s a new heat up meter that players must balance. The hotter the meter, the harder your elemental hits will score. If it heats up completely, it must cool down before you can use your big skills again. Then, there’s the complete change to basic attacks. You now play through a reticule, and must manually aim at enemies. Basic attacks will require left and right mouse clicking to execute.
So you can see, there’s a lot of changes in Secret World Legends. Launch is coming in June 26th, and we’ll be there to cover all the latest happenings.
