ARK: Survival Evolved Raises Price to $60 Ahead Of Full Release In August
If you were one of thousands of players who purchased ARK: Survival Evolved when it was still in Early Access, congratulations. You’ll be keeping the full game for whatever discount or sale price you bought it for. As of this week, Studio Wildcard is pushing the dinosaur survival game out of Early Access, preparing for full release. To ensure retail parity, the game will now be priced at $60 moving forward.
That is the price of a full AAA game, and one that’s rare to see on an indie game that’s come from Early Access. Since arriving on Steam way back in 2015, the game retailed at $29.99 and often went on sale. The developers did warn many times on the store page however, that the prices will go up for full release. ARK will be available world wide and on consoles August 8th.
And as a reminder, again, if you already own this in your Steam library, you do not need to pay a dime more. You have full access to all the features and the game at launch. As for what state the game is in currently, I suppose it’s in good shape. Over the months, more and more content have made its way into the game. There’s variety of new crafting items and new dinosaurs to tame. So, will you be buying it now if you didn’t already?
