Climbing Patch Delayed As Conan Exiles Work Toward Unreal Engine Update

Climbing, a much requested feature for Conan Exiles, is being delayed. Developers Funcom stated this week that while their focus in to bring climbing ASAP, the engine upgrade is taking longer than usual.

The game will be using Unreal 4.15 in the near future, a step up from 4.12. The upgrade will allow the game to take advantage of some new features. These include better optimization for both server and client. All this means that players will benefit from a smoother gaming experience.

However, due the focus on Unreal, climbing will only go live after Unreal 4.15 is complete. There isn’t a final date or ETA on when both are ready to be rolled out, but it’s safe to say that things are positive. Conan Exiles have been constantly pushing out new features, content and squashing bugs.

Climbing when it does arrive, will add another layer of gameplay feature that gives players more ways to play. Cliff sides and mountaineering will be both exciting and hazardous for the adventurous. Besides that, there will also be more additions in the way of exploration and combat in-game.
