It has been a bumpy ride for Fallout 76 since its launch last year, but Bethesda are keen on setting things right. The studio has just announced its plans for the new year, beginning with some tweaks, improvements and additions to Fallout 76 in January. Here’s what’s coming.
A Very Large Update
The next update will contain more than 150 fixes, the patch will now land on PC beginning tomorrow and consoles early next week. Similar to the December 11 patch, placing it on PC first will give Bethesda time to make further adjustments as needed before releasing the patch on consoles. PC players, please note that tomorrow, January 10 at 9am ET Fallout 76 will be receiving this update at which time the patch notes will become available.
Performance and Stability
Fallout 76 does have performance issues, anyone that’s been playing since launch can attest to that. The bugs in addition to the server crashes can be a pain, especially when players are out about exploring and are caught in the middle of a firefight. Worry not, the upcoming January 14 patch will seem to address the many issues raised by the community as well as continue the game’s focus on performance and stability. Some of the things Bethesda is planning to address include issues with several Challenges and quests, various fixes to a number of Perks and weapons, and tackling various exploits that have been reported in game.
Beyond Monday’s patch, the studio is working on another patch that should arrive near the end of the month. This patch will continue to add fixes for issues being voiced by the community, including the number of plans Vendors have available, fixing a few Legendary mods, and continuing to address issues with some Perks. This is a good addition, as players felt that vendors were underwhelming with what they offered for sale or trade. Plans are hard as it is to come by, and having more being sold by vendors will definitely be a huge improvement especially for solo players that can’t adventure to far and dangerous areas of West Virginia.
