Google Stadia is sort of a quick fix for gamers who want to jump into a night of fun but don’t have a rig to do so. MMORPG players are no different, and maybe we want to see more games on Stadia, who doesn’t? So here’s a top 5 list of MMOs that should be on it!

World of Warcraft

No brainer – the king of MMORPGs should be on Google Stadia, making it more accessible to new players looking to join in a classic adventure. With almost two decades of content available of World of Warcraft, the download size isn’t getting any smaller. Therefore, streaming WoW for new players sounds like a good deal. Furthermore, with WoW Classic now on the horizon, having it on Stadia might actually open up both the genre and the franchise to new and curious players alike.

Guild Wars 2

Everyone knows the term ‘Netflix and Chill’. What would be the MMO equivalent? Guild Wars 2 and chill of course. When it comes to MMOs that lets you play at your own pace all the time, nothing can touch Guild Wars 2. The world of Tyria is chill, with plenty of world events, story content and grinds that only exist if you care about looking flashy. Beyond that, Guild Wars 2 is by far the most laid back MMORPG out there, and would be perfect for a quick pick-me-up gaming session on Google Stadia. Problem is, the game itself is free to play and buy to play if you factor in the expansions, so no one is really going to want to subscribe to Google Stadia just to play a free to play MMORPG. But still, we’d like to see it on there.

All The Battle Royales

A list of games at launch was released earlier in the week, and surprisingly, not one of the major Battle Royale games are on it. Similar to title above, one might suspect that these games being free to play is a risk. Again, not many can see the sense in paying Google a subscription just to play a free to play game. However, the benefits of having them on the platform is great. Again, we can expect more players, no download issues and no storage issues on the PC either. That’s a win for the most part.

Star Wars the Old Republic

No Star Wars game of any kind, even non MMOs, are on the Google Stadia launch list. Strange, considering the magnitude of the Star Wars fandom and popularity. Nevertheless, besides all the major Star Wars games like Battlefront II, the Old Republic MMO would be a perfect fit. Packed with awesome class stories – eight in total – all expertly written and voiced, the adventure on Stadia could be a shot in the arm for BioWare. Additionally, group content would be given a huge boost by Star Wars players new to the game which will be a positive.

Final Fantasy XIV

We’re calling it right now – FFXIV or Final Fantasy 14, will be on Google Stadia one day. It’s not on the list for launch, but Square Enix has already committed a few games to the platform. These are the Tomb Raider games and Final Fantasy XV, which is our biggest hint that more could be on the way. Similar to the rest, FFXIV is a large MMO in download size and streaming it via Stadia would save a lot of players the trouble.

Google Stadia is being hailed as the Netflix of video games. The platform allows players to stream games without the need to download it, and it comes with its own controller. The catch is, it’s pretty pricey to be the first ones to play at launch this November. It will also require a subscription fee, but unlike Netflix, you’re not renting anything – in this case the games. Google wants you to purchase them entirely, but that’s for another day’s discussion. Will there be MMORPGs and MMOs on Google Stadia at launch? Yup! The two MMOs on Google Stadia that’s been confirmed so far is Zenimax’s Elder Scrolls Online, and Bungie’s Destiny 2. But which games do we really want to see on Google Staida? Here’s our list.

Gamescom 2019 is here and day one has some pretty big reveals and news. Many of the big publishers and studios are also in attendance, from Square Enix to CD Project Red. With day one almost over, here are the top trending games and announcements to go over.

Cyberpunk 2077 Will Be On Google Stadia

CD Projekt Red began with their announcement that its much anticipated open world RPG will be on Google Stadia. Gamers will be able to enjoy the immersive first-person RPG, its mature narrative, and cutting-edge visuals across dozens of supported devices. Cyberpunk 2077 will release April 16th, 2020, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The Google Stadia version will launch the same year — additional details will be made available at a later date.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character’s cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where your choices shape the story and the world around you.

The Witcher 3 Nintendo Switch Release Date Announced

Another one of CD Projekt Red’s beloved games, The Witcher 3 was announced for the Nintendo Switch console back in E3 2019. Today, we got a release date. The game and the Wild Hunt Complete edition will launch digitally and in retail on October 15th, 2019. Gamers visiting this year’s gamescom, taking place from Tuesday, August 20th through Saturday, August 24th in Cologne, Germany, will be able to check out the title in person. The game will be playable at the Nintendo booth, located in Hall 9 of the entertainment area.

In addition to the new trailer, the studio has also released a gameplay overview video, offering an extended look at the Nintendo Switch version of The Witcher 3. Playing the game are CD PROJEKT RED’s Community Manager Paweł Burza and Paweł Sasko, Senior Quest Designer on Wild Hunt and Lead Quest Designer on the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions.

Wasteland 3 Gets A New Trailer

Wasteland 3 has a large presence on the gamescom floor, with over 25 stations available for attendees to try a first-ever hands demo. At the same time, the Alpha will be released to backers who supported the title on its initial Fig crowdfunding campaign. The game has released a brand new trailer for the highly anticipated Wasteland 3 during the Inside Xbox show.

In this trailer the Patriarch of Colorado summons the Desert Rangers to his land and warns of the dangers they’ll encounter. With their home state of Arizona in dire need of the aid the Patriarch is offering, the Rangers have no choice but to brave the frozen wasteland, deal with the cults and gangs that inhabit it, and hope the Patriarch will stay true to his word.

Torchlight II Can Now Be Pre-purchased on Nintendo Switch

During this morning’s Indie World presentation by Nintendo of America, Perfect World Entertainment announced that the classic dungeon crawler, Torchlight II is now available for pre-purchase on the Nintendo Switch system in North America. Starting today, Switch users in North America can visit the Nintendo eShop to purchase Runic Games’ hack’n’slash RPG ahead of launch and unlock a brand new pet for the game, Yapper, the green goblin. In addition, another new pet has been revealed exclusively for Nintendo Switch – a sparkly and portly unicorn who will accompany adventurers on their journey through the perilous continent of Vilderan. Torchlight II releases on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 for $19.99 on September 3.
