Amazon Games Studios has released another major update for its MMORPG New World this week which consists of numerous bug fixes, and the hugely anticipated character transfer service. If you’re wondering how to transfer characters in New World, here’s a quick guide on how to do so.
You Get A Free Token From The Store
New World will be giving every player one free transfer token per account. This token can be claimed in-game from the Store tab, which is where you’ll be prompted into the transfer process.
But Before You Transfer, Take Note!
Like most MMORPG games, transferring your character will require you to meet a certain criteria. In New World, make sure that you are not in a Company (guild). This means either leaving or disbanding your current one. Secondly, players will need to remove all item listings from the Auction House. While it may be tedious and in some cases will cause you to loose Gold, it is mandatory according to AGS. Keep in mind, your friends list will also be wiped when you reach your destination server. And finally, be sure to use that token to start the process only in sanctuaries and towns.
What Will Transfer With You?
The good news, you won’t loose progress when you transfer your character to another New World server. Here is a list of things that will carry over with you to your new server in Aeternum.
-
You will keep all character progression (level, weapon mastery, titles, etc.).
-
You will keep your inventory and storage.
-
You will keep all of your currency.
-
You will keep your houses and housing decorations.
-
You will keep all quest progress.
Begin The Transfer Process
Once you’ve taken care of the necessary criteria listed above, you can now begin the transfer process. When clicking the token on the store, the UI prompts you to select a new server/world in your current region. However, you cannot move to a full world or a world set that you have an existing character already. And that’s about it! For full details about New World character transfers, see the full post here.
