With the update, a new, limited-time “Snow & Steam Contract” has been added that gives players the chance to spend the holidays with two new furry companions — the Frost Owl and the Ugly Sweater Cat. Players that make progress for this contract can earn additional content, including snow-based fort decorations plus an assortment of rewards. This time-limited contract will only be available during the holiday season, but the items unlocked will be permanently available to players who obtain them during that time. In addition, players can also find two new pets, an adorable Reindeer and the Jolly Ferret, and a special winter holiday-themed variant of the well-beloved Retriever pet across the frontier and in dungeons.

While hacking and slashing through the frontier, players can experience the joy of acquiring five brand-new legendary weapons, with four weapons — The North Mace, Glacier’s Edge, Frostwall and My Lil’ General — being part of the Arctic Armaments weapon set, and there’s also one unique weapon, Toymaker’s Tool. Players can also find the Winterweave armor set that has the Lucky Adventurer skill, granting +20% item luck and 10% movement speed for 30 seconds when a player slays an Elite enemy. The new Winterweave items are permanent additions to the game and can only be found by level 47+ characters. Two new rare helms, Frostform Head, which transforms a player’s head into a snowman head, and Elfin Cap have been added as well to get players even more into the holiday spirit.

Additionally, Snow & Steam introduces quality-of-life improvements for all players to enjoy. The Forged class is letting off some steam with major combat upgrades and a new HUD to make it a more viable class. Fazeer’s Dun’djinn has also received adjustments — including more affixes and rewards — and there have been changes to the Fort system, like the brand-new “Style Station” that’s available as soon as players have unlocked their fort. The new station introduces transmog and dye features that allow players to customize the look and color of their gear.

This update spawns brand-new content in the recently-launched, fast-paced dungeon crawler, including three new Halloween-themed exclusive pets, eight new Legendary items — including two new weapons, and a gear set that provides two new skills — that can be found in Fazeer’s Dun’djinn, and six new, eerie fort decorations. This special Halloween-themed content is haunting all versions of the game, which is now available on Steam, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One — and will be available soon on Nintendo Switch.

The three new pets – the Midnight Cat, Dragonling Spirit, and the Spooky Retriever – can be rescued from dungeons and bosses, and come with a new legendary pet skill, Necropupper. This ability summons two skeletons that last 12 seconds, deal 50% weapon damage and have 50% of your health. These spooky pets will only be available until December, so players will need to track them down before then!

The new Ancient Ember gear set, a Relic-focused set, provides two new skills: Imbue Relic, which restores all Relic Energy and resets Relic skill cooldowns, and Earthen Spike, which conjures spikes from the ground that deal 100% weapon damage to a nearby enemy when an Active Relic Skill is activated.

Additionally, this update will bring two new weapons to the game. The Sword of the Lost Legion grants a new active skill that allows players to summon a battalion of ghostly skeletons, while the Lightning Baller mace fires a large shock bolt that splinters into smaller shock bolt projectiles.

Players looking to deck out their forts to fright and delight their visitors will find that there are six new fort decorations to unlock, as two new fort items have been added to each of three contracts in the multi-tiered contracts progression and reward system that lets players earn Fame and unlock elite items. These items can be found listed below, sorted by contract.

In Torchlight III, it’s been a century since the events of Torchlight II, where the great heroes of old defeated The Dark Alchemist and sealed the Netherlord’s heart inside the Clockwork Core. The heroes brought peace to the world of Novastraia, but now the Ember Empire finds itself on the brink of collapse as it’s under threat of invasion by the Netherim and its allies. • Pets are Back: Players can fight their way to fame and glory with loyal companions! Each of the many species comes in a myriad of colors and styles so adventurers shouldn’t settle for the first one they find. They can make these trusty pets stronger by adding skills, equip them with gear to make them hardier, and together battle enemies as a team. Pets also have their own vast inventory for items, and players have the option to have their pets sell items directly in town.

• Build Your Hero: With four classes to choose from, along with 20 class and Relic combinations — each combination offering a unique playstyle — and a wide range of choices of where to place skill points at, players can utilize class-specific mechanics to maximize damage and their odds of survival. Torchlight III lets them gather epic gear, select your Relic powers, and customize loadouts to create a unique combat style for their heroes.

Players brave enough to enter Fazeer Shah’s Dun-Djinn will first be dealt with a hand of challenges in the form of cards. From these cards, players must select the monsters, elements, and chaotic affixes that’ll need to be taken on. At regular intervals, completing a challenging boss battle is needed to save a player’s progress. Those that complete the quests and defeat the champions and bosses within the challenging dungeon are rewarded with Fame, which can be used to earn epic rewards, including rare and legendary items, fort decorations, exclusive pets, and so much more. Fazeer Shah’s Dun-Djinn also supports party play, giving players the option to party up with three fellow adventures via online cooperative multiplayer or venture alone to take on all of Fazeer’s challenges.

Torchlight III Release Date and Beta

While it’s exciting that Torchlight III has a new name, players are no doubt eager to know when the Torchlight III release date is. So far Perfect World has only confirmed that the early access and Torchlight III beta will be held on January 29, 2020. The full release date isn’t detailed, but per the Steam Store Page listing, players can expect Torchlight III to be released this year in 2020. Don’t forget to Wishlist it on Steam.

Torchlight III Game Details

When Torchlight III releases on Steam this summer, players will be able to purchase the full game and play however they like (online or off) with access to all playable content. Rather than focusing on horizontal progression, the game shifts back to the familiar linear world structure that was introduced with Torchlight I & II. Longtime Torchlight fans will be happy to hear that the game features the same mechanics that set the original series apart from other ARPGs on the market.
