Secret World Legends is now live with its newest update, the Orochi Tower. This is part 3 of the Tokyo content expansion back, which wraps up season one of the main story.

Players will be ascend the Orochi Tower to unravel the story, and take part in the raid as well. Expect new challenges, rewards and more.

Of course, for players who have played The Secret World, the Ultimate Reward is something you are familiar with. Throughout the Main Stories, players make choices that have consequences. These end up being the Ultimate Skill – a powerful finisher skill that can either decimate foes or heal. They also come in the form of wings in three colors, Blue, Gold and Black.

In addition to the new content, some changes are also made to how the daily challenges works. As a result, everyone will have their daily rewards progress reset back to the beginning. For more information, check out the official website here.

Secret World Legends has just released its first major raid, the New York Raid. Officially known as the Manhattan Excursion Zone, players will group up together to take down the Lurker, first seen in the tutorial.

The raid will become available to all players once they are level 50. Then, it can be started using the Activity Finder panel (Shift+V). Everyone from casuals to hardcore players can experience the NYR, as there will be many modes. The first is of course, the story mode which allows players to experience the story on the lowest difficulty. It then gradually increases in difficulty level for those that want a challenge.

There will be new rewards and achievements for taking down the Unutterable Lurker in the raid. Expect to see new pets, outfits and even new Extraordinary Weapons and Talismans.

In addition to the raid, new Lair Megabosses are also included in this update. Up to 40-man groups can take on these powerful new monsters that must be summoned in Agartha. At the end of each fight, rare loot chests will drop and players can spend one Lair key to open them. The player that summons the megaboss gets additional rewards at no extra cost.

Funcom’s Secret World Legends will be taking account action against players who purchase Marks of Favor from third party sellers. In a recent Reddit post, Community Manager AndyB explained that players who do so will get their accounts suspended. Depending on the severity of the economic impact, some accounts may suffer a permanent ban without review.

Secret World Legends has had an influx of MoF spammers (gold spammers) in game chat recently. While it’s nothing new to MMOs, bots and currency third party sellers can potentially hit SWL hard. This is because the game’s economy is player driven by the Aurum/Marks of Favor exchange rate.

These payments also cause us and other companies damage due to chargebacks and the extra fee we have to pay when a chargeback is issued. The Tokyo region is now live and playable in Secret World Legends. The inner Kaidan area will continue the game’s main story and where players last left off in Transylvania. Unlike Tokyo on The Secret World, the region has been given a face lift for SWL.

One of the biggest changes is that the AEGIS System is now gone from the game. Whether you’re cheering or booing, it was universally known as the stopper. Majority of players found AEGIS to be a tedious grind that serves no purpose for story continuation in the old game. As a result, Funcom have now taken it away and fights are going to be re-balanced to handle non-AEGIS builds.

Furthermore, there are changes to the Venetian Agenda, the story episode prior to Tokyo. That has been reworked as well and players will still need to earn a certification to enter Tokyo. Kaidan will have 6 story and 11 main missions to start with. The other two parts of Tokyo will be released over the next few weeks.

In addition, a previously unreleased Lair will also be making its debut in Secret World Legends. Outside of PvE content, Weapon Skins are finally added in this update, and are integrated into the dressing room. Overall, a beefy update for Legends and hopefully the absence of the AEGIS system will get a lot more players to experience the Tokyo story.

Those waiting to play Secret World Legends on Steam, the wait is over. Funcom’s modern day urban horror MMORPG is now on Steam, making the game super accessible to all players.

For players without a current TSW or SWL account, getting the game on Steam is super easy. All you need to do is sign in to Steam, download the game and hop on in. Launching the game from Steam will prompt the Secret World Legends launcher. But the difference from the website version is that you will not need to log in at all, as that is done via your Steam account. That makes it incredibly convenient if you want to jump into game quicker.

Furthermore, for current players with an existing SWL account, you can perform a one time transfer to a Steam account. This means that all your future payment for Patron and Aurum purchases will be done through Steam using Steam Wallet. It’s important to stress that once your account is changed, there is no way to go back to the old account.

In addition to the Steam launch, there are a couple of bonus bundle packs for players to purchase on Steam. These are exclusive cosmetics and mounts that non-Steam accounts cannot access. However, Lifetime players and those who own the previous TSW DLC bundles or all DLCs are eligible for their own exclusives. With the Steam release coming in a few weeks, Secret World Legends has revealed their content road map for the rest of the year. The first order of business for the remainder of July until September will be to re-introduce content from The Secret World.

First up is Issue 7, A Dream To Kill. This content DLC pack which previously players have to pay for, will be a free update. The new missions will take place in the Transylvania zone and continues to main story. A few key characters will be introduced and play an important role in setting up the Tokyo story line, as it did back in TSW.

Shortly after that, The Whispering Tide community event will take place. Agartha, the magical gateway transportation hub in the secret world, is under attack from the filth. With monsters inhabiting this once pristine glade, players must band together to take them out. Upon completion, the portal leading to Tokyo will open, ushering in the new zone for the continuation of the story. This is one event you do not want to miss, as the “Flappy” raid is one of the most fun fights I’ve ever had in TSW.

Apart from PvE content, it is also good to see that the seasonal events such as Halloween and Winter will be coming to Secret World Legends. Funcom is way ahead of the curve in terms of writing horror stories for their Halloween missions. Hopefully, fan favorite cosmetic rewards will make an appearance in SWL.

But the one that we’re all looking forward to is towards the end of the year or beginning of 2018. The road map suggests that we’ll get new Season 2, the story beyond Tokyo then. For more info, check out the official post here.
