Creature collecting MMO Temtem has unveiled some new features that players can look forward to in Content Update 1. Below are some of the new things that you can look forward to when it launches

Trade House

If you’ve tried to enter every house in Temtem, you must’ve noticed some buildings described as Trade Houses or similar. These places are currently marked with a WIP sign, and are inaccessible, but this will change when CU1 hits.

The Trading Houses are the market-oriented locations in the game, where players will be able to post and receive offers without the need to directly interact with anyone. They will act as a bulletin board where everyone will be able to post their offers and requests and others will be able to sort through all these listings. All trade houses are equal and provide access to the same trading network, meaning you can simply drop by the one that’s closer to you, or the one you find the most ~aesthetic~.

Dojo Wars

Each island in the Archipelago will hold a Club Dojo (so, six in total), which players will be able to conquer and hold. Clubs will be able to challenge the current Dojo leaders each week by participating in in-game tournaments and facing the rest of participating Clubs. These matches will take place in different time windows during the week, with it being on different days depending on the Dojo you’re aiming to capture. This means there will be some Dojos that are super convenient for you, and others that are less so.

You’ll need a minimum of 11 players to take part in Dojo Wars, and you can designate your participants with the future Dojo Warrior role. Once a Club has conquered a Dojo, they will be able to decorate it and obtain Pansuns for their Club during the time they hold it. And that’s not all! Dojos conquered by clubs will also house the mysterious Dojo Park, of which we shall tell you more when the time is right.

Mounts

Mounts are a staple feature in any MMO and we didn’t want to miss out on it! Although Matter Transfer Drones are very convenient and cover most of the Archipelago, Mounts will give you the possibility of taking in the scenery with the added bonus of speed and preventing untamed Temtem encounters. We’re only adding a couple of mounts for now, and will include others in the future.

Temtem, the Pokemon-like creature collecting MMO has launched its early access and is currently taking the world by storm. The game has already topped the best-seller charts on Steam, and looks set to dominate the rest of the month. As a Temtem tamer, players will adventure solo or co-op with friends online to collect, train and do battle with their Temtem monsters to emerge as the best. It’s a familiar tale, but don’t be fooled by the comparisons with Pokemon – the game is an MMO with decent mechanics and boasts a define and unique art style too boot. But when it comes to your humble beginnings, which Temtem should you pick?

Which Starter Temtem To Pick?

Like Pokemon, Temtem starts you off with a choice of three starter Temtem monsters to pick from, and these monsters come with different elements, strengths, weaknesses, skills and more. So which starter Temtem should you pick?

Crystle:

Crystle is a Crystal type Temtem that’s strong against Electric and Mental, but weak against Fire and Earth. From our playthrough experience, Crystle does very well in the early parts of the game when up against the wild Temtem and is also cutesy, which helps.

Houchic:

Houchic is a Mental Temtem that’s strong against Neutral and Melee type opponents. Its weakness is only Crystal type Temtem, which makes it a decent starter as the early wild monsters out there consists of Neutral and Melee, especially on your first journey to the Academy. In the long run, Houchic seems to be the solid choice.

Smazee:

The last choice is Smazee, a Melee Temtem. It does very well against Earth and Crystal monsters, which you’ll find aplenty everywhere so you’ll have a decent time with this one. Its weakness is Mental, which is popular too considering Houchic’s popularity, so keep that in mind.

Ultimately whatever you choose is going to be substantial so pick your favorite element or Temtem. The most important thing here is which partner Temtem you’ll use in battles to support your starter. The right combination will make things smoother for you.

Starter Temtem Evolutions

So now that you have your starter Temtem, when does it evolve? Like Pokemon, monster evolutions will be common and key to making your Squad stronger, while earning new Techniques (skills) along the way. For wild Temtem, you can expect evolutions to happen when leveling up. Experience points are earned for participating in battles, provided your Temtem stays alive.

For Starter Temtems, the process of evolution will be the same. You’ll need experience points to evolve, although they do happen much later than the basic Temtems out there.

Crystle Evolves To Sherald at Level 30

Smazee Evolves To Baboong at Level 29

Houchic Evolves To Tental at Level 29

Are we about to have a great month of MMOs in February? While there wasn’t a slew of new games announcements unlike for January, this month still has a few eye catching releases to look forward to. Here are the top MMORPGs releasing in February 2020.

Dragon Raja Mobile

Dragon Raja is a futuristic, cyberpunk MMORPG that’s launching in North America for mobiles sometime this month. Pre-registrations are already open on the official website and app stores, plus in the last month or so the developers have been releasing plenty of gameplay videos to give us a look at what to expect. While the combat doesn’t look all that revolutionary, it’s the other aspects of Dragon Raja that’s intriguing most folks, as not only do you have a story-driven, fully voiced PvE campaign to play through, you can also do sim-like things solo or with friends in this futuristic world like racing, sports, cooking, dating, shopping and more that actually looks like a breath of fresh air from all the overused medieval high fantasy gameplay loops we’ve had over the years.

High Treason

This is a PvP focused MMORPG that’s apparently launching on Steam sometime this month, set in a low fantasy medieval world, in which players will create and level up characters by completing tasks like hunting down other players, embarking on quests, looting towns, caves and clearing dungeons. It seems that you can even play on a hardcore server where there’s perma death, and not much else is listed in the store page’s description of what type of solo or group content players can expect. Progression seem to involve weapon growth, and the game does describe needing to complete objectives that your wielded weapon comes with in order to make it stronger, for example, more player kills or needing a certain material or element from the world to sharpen it.

Blood of Steel

Up next is Blood of Steel, another PvP focused MMO/MOBA game that lets players control iconic heroes from World History, and as warlords, you’ll command them and their army to do battle for territories, in ranked battlegrounds and more. Basically, if you’ve ever heard of or played games like Tiger Knight, Conqueror’s Blade and Kingdom Under Fire 2, then this will be familiar to you. The game is scheduled to release on Steam this February 20th and it looks like it will be a buy to play game.

Ever wondered what a Pokemon MMORPG would look and play like? Wonder no more, because Crema Studios and Humble Bundle’s Temtem will launch tomorrow on Steam Early Access.

Temtem is hugely inspired by Pokemon, and it aims to bring the monster collecting world to an online audience in the form of an MMORPG. First appearing on Kickstarter, the game has been a crowdfunding success and here we are a couple of years later, with Temtem gearing up for an early access launch on Steam, followed by Discord and much later on, it will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch console.

In Temtem, players take on the role of tamers, and must rise through the ranks in the 6 islands available. Players will collect, train and do battle with over 141 Temtem monsters, and co-op play is available through the game’s main story campaign. Outside of that, there’s player housing to look forward to, in addition to its unique graphics and fancy customization for player characters.

Check out the Steam store page here.

Don’t miss out on all the content coming out for these MMORPGs in addition to some exciting new titles that we’ll get to play sometime in 2020. Here’s what we’re excited for!

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands

Scandals or no, Blizzard rolls on with World of Warcraft, having just emerged mostly successful from 2019 with a host of major patch updates for its Battle for Azeroth expansion, in addition to the launch of WoW Classic, which millions of players dived into and continue to do so to-date. In 2020, players can look forward to the next expansion titled Shadowlands. We are anticipating this one eagerly for a bunch of reasons, the most obvious one – for anyone who watched the cinematic trailer – being the massive gameplay changes coming to World of Warcraft. With Shadowlands, a new level squish goes into affect where Death Knights and Demon Hunters start at level 1, and players will get to choose which expansion they prefer to quest in as they make their way leveling through the game. The new zones and introduction of Covenants will also change the dynamic of the game, giving players new and varied choices to select when it comes to expansion progression. We’ll break down Shadowlands in-depth as we get closer to launch, but it’s definitely got us hyped.

Crimson Desert

Pearl Abyss shocked many at last year’s G-STAR convention where they announced a total of 4 new MMORPGS coming in 2020. One of them is Crimson Desert; another open-world sandpark MMORPG with gorgeous graphics and action-based combat, but despite having desert in its name, it shares no relevance to the studio’s flagship MMORPG, Black Desert Online. We’re excited for Crimson Desert because its project head, Jason Jung, has promised some major things that players have never seen before from Pearl Abyss. Firstly, the game will be primarily story focused. From the teaser trailer, the story cinematics look amazing and narratively follows a mercenary leader and his gang as they learn more about the world they’ve set foot upon. It’s also visually influenced by Game of Thrones for some reason, but that’s not a bad thing as we could all do with a break from the typical Asian MMO fantasy setting. While details about the game’s payment model and exact content offering are scarce this early into the New Year, it has been confirmed that an open beta will take place in 2020 and we cannot wait.

Temtem

Humble Bundle’s rare foray into the world of publishing is set to give us a brand new MMORPG called Temtem which launches on Steam Early Access this month. If you’re hearing about it for the first time, Temtem is a monster collecting MMO, and the closest thing it compares to is Pokemon. So yes, if you’ve always wanted an open-world Pokemon style MMORPG where you and your friends can co-op, catch monsters, do battle with others or with NPCs, go on main campaign quests, enjoy a housing system and more, then this is absolutely the game for you. Its roster of monsters will obviously resemble nothing close to the original Pokemon, but we’ve seen enough to be convinced that Temtem will offer its own unique take on the genre.
