Joining the mercenary ranks of BlackShot is new character Sam, a frontline shock trooper who is heavily armored and known for fearlessly charging into enemy territory. Thanks to his advanced armor, Sam is capable of resisting direct shots to the head, making him ideal for players who like confronting their foes head-on.

Along with Sam, a variety of new weapons added to the game include futuristic offerings such as the HK416D Neo Chaser assault rifle, DSR Neo Serpent Sniper Rifle, and FW-RS Neo Panther SMG, along with classics like the SA58 and DSR1.  

A brand new map is also included in this update: Oil Station for Team Deathmatch mode. Surrounded by heavy machinery, players will have to navigate this industrial complex as they strive to annihilate the enemy team. Additionally, classic BlackShot Team Flagmatch maps will be making a comeback: Mean Street, Broken Cage and Normandie.

As BlackShot continues its march through 2020, more characters, weapons and maps will  be added to its ranks in Operation Neo Chronos.

Included in this update is a new character skin, Adam Neo. Having journeyed into the future, the legendary mercenary has returned outfitted with advanced body armor that enhances his combat abilities.

BlackShot’s substantial arsenal of firepower has been enhanced with the all-new FW-14 Neo Shark assault rifle, FW-LS Neo Owl sniper rifle, and Neo Grenade Mk1. These experimental weapons are cutting-edge tools of warfare that make their modern-day counterparts look primitive by comparison!

Battle Royale mode has also been given an upgrade in Operation: Neo Chronos. Now, players can specify the number and duration of rounds per match, get ranked based on their overall performance rather than pure survival, and have a higher chance of finding top-tier weapons in the combat zone. Additionally, a Safe Zone will now appear on the map close to the end of the match, forcing surviving players closer together as the rest of the map becomes hazardous!

Along with new Mastery Boost items, returning maps like Berlin, Galata and LRT, and a new Competitive Season, the first stage of Operation: Neo Chronos is a sign of more updates to come to BlackShot as it enters a new decade. More characters and weapons from BlackShot M: Gears will be coming soon!

In the newly improved Clan War mode, players will get to rally with their respective Clans and seek rival Clans to do battle against. Wins and losses will factor into Clan rankings, and Clans will want to recruit and field the toughest players available in order to climb the ranks and achieve maximum dominance.

Along with Clan War mode, the Operation Frozen Anger update introduces two Tier-5 weapons: the HK416 Blackest Grade assault rifle and McMillan Blackest Grade sniper rifle, and a new character skin: Irene Santa, a combat medic and expert tactician.

The return of Clan War, along with the Mastery System, military-style Ranks are the result of continued feedback from the BlackShot community, as the legendary FPS continues its march into 2020 with more updates on the way.

Lock n’ load and pass the ammo, Vertigo Games is set to unleash BlackShot: Revolution, a massive update to its flagship Multiplayer First-Person Shooter, BlackShot, on 25 July.

A host of gameplay updates await you in BlackShot: Revolution. For starters, all weapons will be reworked and rebalanced; choose weapons based on your playstyle, rather than power! The in-game currency system of Bounty Points (BP) and BlackShot Cash (BC) will also be retooled into Gold and Gems, respectively. Gold is acquired by fighting battles and is used to load up on game items and maintain your arsenal. Gems, the new premium currency, will mainly be used to purchase cosmetic items and premier weapon skins to further distinguish yourself from your fellow mercenaries.

Additionally, BlackShot: Revolution will feature a slew of graphical updates, including an overhaul of the in-game menus, weapon re-textures, map updates, and additional customization options such as skin tone selection.

In the buildup to the launch of BlackShot: Revolution, Vertigo Games have conducted playtests with BlackShot players in Singapore to gather their feedback and make further enhancements to the game. Several online and offline tournaments are in the works to bring the Revolution to both veteran players and newcomers alike.

Originally released on 2008, BlackShot features frantic and intensely competitive multiplayer shooter action set in a dystopian future, where corporations and governments employ cloned mercenaries to battle one another. It was most notably published by Garena, followed by PlayOne, before returning to its original owner Vertigo Games in November 2017.

“The ultimate goal of Revolution is to bring a play-to-win, not pay-to-win formula to BlackShot,” said Will Choi, Senior Project Manager at Vertigo Games, “Our players are extraordinarily loyal to the game, and based on the feedback we’ve gotten from our playtests, we’re confident that Revolution will bring the most perfected gameplay balance BlackShot has ever seen.”

BlackShot’s ranked online play is moving in a dramatic new direction with the Competitive Mode BETA, released today for both the Global and SEA game regions and available for all players.

Every match played in this intense new mode impacts a player’s overall Competitive rank, reflected by the fully-automated ELO system. Ranking is determined over six-week Seasons, during which players can battle through grade ranks ranging from Bronze through to the exclusive Black grade, reserved for the top 100 elite. At the end of each Competitive Season, all players who participated will automatically receive premium prizes based on their finishing Rank, with those in the Black Tier receiving the top prizes.

Corresponding with the release of the Competitive Mode BETA, several changes have also been made to the structure of BlackShot Clans. A Clan’s score is now determined on a cumulative basis by each member’s Competitive ELO Score, replacing the existing Clan Wars system and making Clans much more streamlined and accessible for all players.

Alongside the other additions, numerous tweaks have also been made to the game’s UI and menu screens, modernizing elements where possible and applying dozens of quality-of-life changes. Veteran players are sure to appreciate the new simplified appearance and menu flows.

Since Competitive Mode is still under active development, based on the player feedback received during the two scheduled BETA Seasons, it has the potential to change drastically. Players will have many opportunities to submit feedback through a variety of surveys that will be conducted through the duration of the BETA.
